QUOTE Special Edit: Because I'm a total waste of space *let's the Beran's slap me around* I realised that this post was very Windia orientated and that has to change. From the leveling thread three names seem to stand out in particular: Theshinji is ACTUALLY leveling his paladin! Whoop! Whoop! Of course he groans about it, but in fairness... well... one word: Paladin. Keep going Brian! Xeonhart is leveling like a pro! Keep it up Tim! And finally, FlameChocobo is getting closer to 4th job by the second! Other people have leveled to in other worlds- apologies for no particular mentions- there are just too many of you! Keep it up guys! For a supposedly active forum we haven't had a very recent news post, have we? Let's change that! I thought it would be quite nice to announce that since we started the whole Pirate thing together waaaay back when it was released, a few people have managed to get themselves to 4th Job. I'd like to congratulate Loose, Taliant, JoeTang and Masamune for being TOP NOTCH pirates. I'm wondering whether I'll be able to give them some sort of Pirate MapleTowers award but we'll see on Loose's time schedule! Loose of course made 4th job quite a while ago! A spiffying buccaneer he has become! Taliant leveled to L120 today (24/06/09). Unfortunately we couldn't find a Griffy for him but he's practically a Corsair! Masamune is a leveling freak and has started a second gunner since an unfortunate accident left him with no choice but to start again. JoeTang needs to get off his lazy arse and start leveling again because Corsair is not far off! I really think these four individuals deserve a hefty pat on the back for legitimate and hardcore training! I think a special mention should go out to various others like Lugin who is still chugging along with his soon-to-be Paladin every now and then. Also Joni, a first class BM, has leveled. I'd say the same about Mazz but he's been a lazy bottom recently! Who else? Other names: OneSound, Hayley etc... well, there are lots of people eh? So! A congratulatory topic has to be made! CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE! Keep up the Mapling! *blows tongue at the quitters!*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAPLETOWERS!This day, two years ago, MapleTowers officially opened a small beta group, and later on April 24th, fully opened our doors to new members. Two years later, we are approaching 2000 registered members - and I must say, I've never been prouder to be apart of such a wonderful community. (thanks Kitten!) There were some people who did not think the site would last this long - but I will say, I always knew it would. I love you guys. I'll let the other admins edit in their well wishes. QUOTE (Moofey) I certainly haven't been here since the beginning; Yes, I was still playing MS religiously when MT was starting up and it was getting the crap smega'd out of it around gMS (Hopefully no one was banned for that. ) but I never really paid attention. Usually when I see something advertised so heavy I don't really get interested, but what really piqued my interest in MT was the number or ex-Maplenoobs members that had popped up on the site. When I realized just how many of you had joined up I was in. At the time Sleepywood had become quite the drama hole and I needed a break (Whereas now I could just banhammer them. ) so it was quite the relief when I came around to the community. I almost didn't even need to create an intro thread because just about everyone already knew me. (It was in that thread that Suz wondered how the heck everyone knew me. I was fairly quickly sorted into the Ruby clan in the next app session and helped lead the team to its first ever Towers championship in my first season with them. Then along came the revival of Maplenoobs by Ben, Maplenoobs.com's real owner at the time, followed by the integration of its community into ours, and it was then that I was also brought in to mod the community as well. Unfortunately that didn't last long, as Benji had pulled a Becky and both fell off the face of the earth. Unfortunately, Maplenoobs is no longer what it has been. After "taking control" of the site I've just let it sit and run itself, knowing that the days where hackers completely dominated gMS were gone and, even though there are still "hacker infestations" from time to time the site isn't much of anything anymore. Eventually the mod became smod, and I had to "retire" from Ruby until we all decided that all the clans needed to benefit from an activity boost for a season. Moderating MT is super duper easy compared to SW, where I usually end up dropping the banhammer 5 or 6 times a day at least. You guys are such a super community that I really don't have to do anything; I'd have to look for it. The last year and a but of smodding eventually led up to going from moderating MT to administrating MT, which is a blast when I have you guys for a community. An admin's job is always great when he doesn't have to ban people. (Don't give me a reason to banhammer anyone, because if you haven't noticed my recent change in avatar, it would probably be a super-bloody affair. ) Mapletowers wouldn't be the forum it is without you guys! Happy Birthday, MT!

New Administrator! I would like everyone to congratulate Moofey - he has just been promoted to Administrator. Moofey has shown tremendous dedication towards MapleTowers, and Suz and I are more than happy to reward him with our first member promotion to Administrator. MapleTowers was never meant to only have two admins, so I'm very glad to add Moofey to the team. I should have a longer speech, but he knows we love him, and I'm sure everyone knows how great he is! I'm sure many of you have noticed that Suz and I have not been as active as before. I will try to be around a bit more, but hopefully with Moofey's awesomeness you won't even notice we're gone.

Just a quick announcement... Unfortunately, Serenadi did not have the time to be a Clan Leader, and has stepped down. Everyone congratulate Nathan on being the new Diamond Leader! He's been an integral, active part of Diamond for many Seasons now, and we're very happy to see him take the reins. Congrats, Nathan!

Season Seven Commences! It is my pleasure to announce the beginning of Season Seven. Staff has a few exciting things planned for this Season, so let me take a chance to describe them for you. First and foremost, let us congratulate Serenadi on becoming our new Diamond Leader. Of course, this doesn't come without a bit of sadness as well, as it means that AgonyMan has departed. We'll miss you, Yegg! And we are happy to have you back on staff, Krissy! Second, the admins and smods will no longer participate in their chosen Clans for CP. It was fun, but not quite so easy for me to keep everything separate as far as conflict of interest goes! So instead, this Season, all five of us will belong to our own "Clan" - Opal Clan. A tally will be kept throughout the Season of our CP earnings, and at the end of the Season the other three Clans will compete in a big contest to take our CP for their very own. I figure this way, it allows us to participate and have fun with you guys, and also provides an X factor for the end of Season that could (maybe!) change the tides in the Clan standings if we work our butts off all Season to earn lots of CP for you guys to take. Next, those of you who were on the Contest Team may notice that you are now no longer. We're going to be revamping Contest Team. Each Clan is going to pick one to two people to be on Contest Team, and those individuals are going to submit contests for CP. There will be bonuses for voteable contests if their Clan wins that contest (such as double CP!), as well as other rewards for being productive members of the team. There will be more info up later for this in the Clan Lounges, but we hope by doing this, not only will you guys get more contests, but it will be at a better schedule than "when Lindsay gets around to it." XD Those of you on Graphics Team - good news! We will be starting a bi-weekly contest soon which will be ran by Loose and Analogue. These contests will be for CP, but also for bragging rights. Suz will be around later to expand on this with you. Next, we are offering yet ANOTHER way for you to earn CP this Season. Host events! It's always fun when the lot of us get together to do something, so now I am going to give you guys another incentive to do so. A new forum will be set up for events, and instead of having a team run events, anyone and everyone who wishes to run one can. You can run one, you can run ten - it's totally up to you to how much CP you wish to earn with it. It can be something as simple as a PQ run in MS, to a jump quest event, or even something outside of MapleStory if we have enough participants. The rules for what you can and can't do will be posted in the new forum once I set it up. I am looking forward to this one the most this Season. Lastly, Moofey has put out the call for MapleNoobs sysops! I'll just let him describe what he wants... QUOTE (Moofey) In order to try to bring Maplenoobs up to the standards and popularity that it was after its initial launch, we are now actively looking for new sysops (i.e. admins) to assist in maintaining the wiki and adding to it on a frequent basis, depending on how bad the hacker situation is on gMS. Since I don't play anymore, I require people to help me on this. Maplenoobs is looking for people who: - Actively play MapleStory
- Are registered on Maplenoobs. (Hint: If you're not registered, do so before submitting your application.)
- Would be willing to "hacker hunt" in known spots in order to help put abusers in their place
- Know the telltale signs of in-game abuse and be able to properly screencap it, either with the in-game screencap function or with Fraps.
- Understand MN's policies
- Have experience with MediaWiki (optional)
In your application, be sure to include the following: - Mapletowers username:
- Maplenoobs username:
- Maplestory IGN and level:
- Which worlds you play on:
- What makes you want to join the Maplenoobs sysop team?:
- How dedicated are you to eliminating hackers and other abusers from MapleStory?:
- Anything else that we should know.
You can submit your application by PMing it to Moofey. We do plan on trying to instate quite a few sysops, so don't be shy. If you're really passionate about being able to play MS hacker-free, then I encourage you to apply. So! I hope we have excited you with all that is new this Season to MapleTowers. Those of you who don't belong to a Clan should go ahead and submit an application here so that you may join in on the fun.
